After watching Michael Jackson’s ‘Leave Me Alone’ short film, I was fascinated by the set pieces and colors throughout, and thought to myself: “Could I build that out of LEGO bricks?” This build is the beginning voyage for a larger piece that will surround the rocket itself in due time.
Michael is the pilot here, and he’s joined by his pet animals, Bubbles the chimpanzee and Muscles the snake.
SNOT (studs not on top) technique was used here to get the shaping as accurate as possible, and luckily was achieved in dark green, a rarer color than most in LEGO’s catalog.
Bubbles’ minifig is comprised of a gorilla head from a CMF minifig, arms from a Minnie Mouse minifig, and torso from Looney Tunes’ Marvin the Martian minifig.
As a nod to the video, I included a clever creation of the Elephant Man’s bones with a skeleton and elephant head from another CMF minifig (I was very proud of myself for this one).
